American Idol
Okay, so this is the first time I have really been into American from the very beginning. I watched through the good and the bad. (there were some really, really, bad moments!) It's also the first time I have really had a favorite from the very first time I heard him sing. How great was it to hear Ryan say the name of, my choice, David Cook as the new American Idol! I really enjoyed David A. too, but David C. really rocked it! Takes me back to my rock 'n roll roots. And was it ab fab to see and hear him with ZZ Top?? Hope that Mr. C has a cd out soon!

Meme.......
I was tagged by my buddy Nartian for this!
"The rules of the game get posted at the beginning. Each player answers the questions about themselves. At the end of the post, the player then tags 5-6 people and posts their names, then goes to their blogs and leaves them a comment, letting them know they’ve been tagged and asking them to read your blog. Let the person who tagged you know when you’ve posted your answer."
1. What was I doing 10 years ago?
Being an active mom of two very busy high school girls. My life was definitely not my own! I was just getting back into knitting, too!
2. What are 5 things on my to-do list for today (not in any particular order):
~ laundry (ugh!)
~ groceries
~ clean the fridge out (maybe I should do this before I go to the grocery store!)
~ work on my Shetland Triangle Shawl (2nd one!)
~ College Graduation party for the daughter from some close friends..
3. Snacks I enjoy:
~ chocolate
~ Premium Saltines (manna from heaven)
~ cheese of any kind
~ did I mention chocolate?
4. Things I would do if I were a billionaire:
~ Pay off all debt.
~ Give more to charities we already support.
~ Take a round the world cruise.
5. Places I have lived:~ Oregon, Oregon, Oregon (I don’t get around much)
6. Peeps I want to know more about:
~ Spinny Bunt ~ cuz she's always good for some great laughs!
~ Convoluted String ~ cuz it's her birthday today!!!!
~ hizknits ~ cuz I love his podcast, Yknit. It rocks!
~ linda ~ cuz she loves color as much as I do!
~ Gail ~ cuz her photos are out of this world!
This was really fun! Thanks, Nartian!

a day full of great things
Look what came for me today from my pal irishgirlieknits! This is just the tip of the iceberg!!!
Check it out! She sent me some fabulous things!
A cute tote bag, a darling "gadget" bag, a hilarious cd, a really funny magnet, some perfect stickers, two great monkey buttons and a darling card with a pic of her baby dog "Puddles". She really rocks in the "BFF" department! Thanks, Carrie!
Next, my new project bag from Peggy arrived! It's perfect as you can see!
Peggy, you are the bomb!
And last but not least, I was out at BMFA helping put together these.......
Which turn into this.....
{colorways: henpecked & pondscum}
Needless to say, I am very proud. It has been a very full day.

spring is really here....
the hostas are up.....
the lilacs are blooming.....
a robin's nest.....
This bird has built a nest in an arrangement that hangs on our back door! Even though the nest is in a precarious place, she really keeps an eye on it! I'll keep you posted on the progress of the little ones..... happy spring everyone!

to the equator and back
I have just returned from a wonderful trip to Panama! Here is the view that my faulty dyer cedar creeks had while I was there! This is on the patio of our friends' lovely home there! What a place! Right on the the ocean (as if the pool isn't enough!). We were there for 8 fabulous days and did we see some great things! Here a just a few of the highlights:
...beautiful flowers......
This is one of the many Kuna Indians that inhabit Panama.
Chickens............everywhere!
This is a 4 month old sloth named "pippin". I was so taken with the sloth that I forgot to get the owners name!
Geckos where you least expect them.....
...did I mention they have this canal?
Only one slight problem while we were there. Meet Madeline....
Think she looks guilty? Here's why:
It seems that Madeline loves BMFA LSS as much as I do and she tried to take it home with her. Luckily, Bob found her with it in the driveway and after much untangling I was able to finish my Shetland Triangle Shawl.
Let's just say that Madeline is a lucky dog!
This is all of us on our last night there (from left to right): me, Bob, Tillman (the hubby) and Bob's fab wife Dorothy! We had such a great time, my face and stomach still hurts from all the smiling and laughing! What a great time and what wonderful friends!
