Forgotten Thank you.....

OOPS! I am really ashamed that I forgot to thank Nathania and all the great people at Purlescence for the warm hospitality and help with Stitches. You guys are amazing! And that's not just because I got to hold Ellie! Although, she is pretty fabulous! It was our pleasure to hang with you guys! We love you!

Thanks again~

Stitches West

The monkeys were on the road again. This time to Stitches West with the Blue Moon Fiber Arts Sockateers. We Sockateers were intrusted with the management and running of the BMFA Booth at the show (thanks tina for the wonderful opportunity!). As you may have guessed, we had a great time, chatted with many Sock Club members, made a lot of new friends, sold a crapload of yarn (what am I saying, this stuff sells itself), and in general had a fabulous time. The numerous photos below really tell the whole story.............

Things we encountered on the road.....

California Worms, The Olive Pit, dogs in a car, an empty gas tank.....................(note to self, monkeys can not be left in charge of the car) ,even chickens......................

At the show ~

We have a lot of people to thank for this fantastic adventure. Debbie, thanks for the wine, it was delicious. Linda, thanks for the See's Truffles, yum! Stephan, thanks for the Cliff and Luna Bars, we ate almost all of them! Heidi, for the wonderful treats including monkey stuff and Girl Scout cookies. YOU ROCK! But most of all Tina for letting us do what we love most, talk about your wonderful, delicious, yummy yarn. We love you!

Gotta go now, must unpack!!

Madrona, monkeys and mayhem.....

So off on Amtrak we went on Wednesday to Tacoma. Madrona was finally here! I don't know who was more excited, the goddesses or the monkeys. We were in for some great classes, good food, wonderful wine, fabulous knitting and spinning and outstanding friends! We were not disappointed by anything.

Hotflash stores her needles in her "flashy" new hairdo!

There was a "horse lamp" in the lobby and we could not keep the monkeys off of it!

There were some spills, but Etta Mae was there with the Tide to Go!

The monkeys made many new friends...............

and tried there hands at knitting!

I was lucky enough to take an all day sock class with Lucy Neatby herself and WOW! The next day I was in an all day Worsted and Woolen Spinning class with Paula Shull. By the time I got done with the second day of classes my little bitty brain was very full!

All in all, we had a great time and were tired by the time we got on the train for the ride home on Sunday.

But those monkeys still had enough energy to clown around a little on the train.....

...and again at the station at Portland. You really have to keep an eye on them!
Now, on to Stitches West...............

Distractions

First there was this..........................

Then there was this...........................................

then this.................................

then this...........................

and finally, this!

This explains the lack of posting lately. I have become the proud owner of a Lendrum DT Spinning Wheel and am loving it! As any of you that have experienced the loveliness of spinning will understand, my days are spent asking myself this. "Do I spin, do I knit, do I knit what I have spun?" If I thought that the hours in the day were not enough before the arrival of my wheel, now I am seriously questioning the necessity of sleep! (notice I said sleep and not eating, there are somethings that are a given)

Just when I thought I was working my way through my stash..................
